Spring 2024 Duncan Dance and Rainbowdance Classes!

THE ART & TECHNIQUE OF ISADORA DUNCAN
Winter-Spring 2024 Term

Class Offerings for Toddlers, Preschoolers, Youth, and Teens/Adults

The choreographic etudes of Isadora Duncan explore, through the action/rest continuum, the dynamic relationship between affiliation and solitude. Celebrating Nature’s unity and rhythm, these dances, remembering ancient rituals and archetypes, are simultaneously tribal and divine.  The indomitable human spirit, ever hopeful, is present in this choreography and in all true healing. Duncan Dance classes for children offer a non-competitive environment designed to encourage healthy emotional, creative, and physical development. Dicki Johnson Macy, Ph.D., BC-DMT, LMHC, IDMA, has for the past 30+ years encouraged children trained in this technique to remain responsive to beautiful music and to the joyful movements inspired by nature.

We are so excited to welcome you to our office in South Boston for another wonderful Rainbowdance® Basic Training this December 1-2. Rainbowdance® is a caregiver/teacher friendly intervention that encourages self esteem, self regulation, and social empathy through the use of repetitive gesture, song, and movement. Rainbowdance® provides children with the opportunity to experience the attachment to the peer group necessary for healthy relationship building, minimizing an orientation toward peer violence.
Throughout this school year, we’ve been witness to both the joys and struggles that children, teachers, and caregivers are experiencing with the return to live programming. Rainbowdance® can be supportive in your classroom, daycare, or home to increase calming, grounding, relaxation, and connection while reducing dysregulation, aggression, and other challenging behaviors.
Great for students, parents, teachers, and clinicians. A wonderful refresher for those who have been already been trained in-person or trained virtually.
LMHCs may be eligible to apply for up to 16 CEUs. Please contact us for more information.
***COVID-19 vaccinations required for in-person trainings***
