SUMMARY:The Guardians of Isadora at the Isabella Stewart Gardener Museum
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a celebration of art and movement next Thursday evening\, July 26\, 2018 at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. A special exhibit showcasing the ancient Farnese Sarcophagus has been recently created\, offering guests a unique opportunity to view the piece from all four sides. Surrounding the marble sarcophagus are elaborately sculpted figures depicting Grecian maenads and satyrs. Excitingly\, the Isadora Duncan repertoire of dances brings these figures to life through dances such as the Bacchanale\, The Three Graces\, The Tanagra\, and more! The Guardians of Isadora dance troupe will be performing two dance sets as an introduction and conclusion to the curator’s talk about this incredible artifact. I am writing to let you know that we here at the Boston Children’s Foundation have a new offering for you and your children: This year we will provide orientation classes\, scheduled during your regular class time\, on Tuesday and Wednesday September 12 and 13\, 2017.  During the scheduled hour\, your respective teacher will conduct a sample class that you\, the parents\, can participate in with your child.  We have found\, over the years\, that parents have many questions about the theories behind our program.  During this time we will discuss with you the developmental and artistic frameworks that we use to assure that your child has a joyful experience in our program\, developing competency and forming healthy relationships.  During this time we will also finalize your registrations and make sure that your child has his or her dance wear.  If your child is potentially transitioning to a new class\, this will give us all a chance to assure that the move is the right one!  Regular classes begin on October 3 and run through January 31.  Please make special note of vacation dates.  There are 15 classes scheduled in this fall/winter session\, which includes the orientation class; please do not miss this class! \nMost Sincerely\, \nDicki Johnson Macy\, Director: Boston Children’s Foundation \nClick Here To View Class Descriptions and Download Registration Form
