Fortunately, the problems facing youth today are not insurmountable or ineffaceable. BCF’s evidence-based methods help to break the well-worn downward spiral of youth violence. Our solution is specific and customizable, integrated, teachable and proven.
At BCF, training is not only a method for building violence-free communities, but also a core value. We believe that community members are best situated to accomplish long-term sustainability, and so it is our aim to empower and equip them with the tools they need. This translates into trainings in private residences, schools, houses of worship, community centers, housing authorities, detention centers, and juvenile courts. BCF interventions are designed to be comprehensive but simple enough to pass on.
Our goal is to equip as many parents, teachers and practitioners as possible with the tools to address the needs of the children in their care, while remaining a resource to guide and develop their progress. Quite often this entails BCF staff running interventions, but always with the goal of passing the baton on to the permanent members of the community, thus securing sustainability and success.
